Brutal Scapes:
Poster design - 2019
Self initiated project
Brutal Scapes is a self-initiated project inspired by my admiration for London's brutalist architecture, particularly the National Theatre and Hayward Gallery. The project emerged from a desire to celebrate the beauty and unique character of these iconic structures. I set out to design a series of illustrated posters that not only showcase the full architectural compositions but also highlight their most intricate details.
This project was also a technical exploration for me. I wanted to delve deeper into the use of grainy textures and experiment with how they could be seamlessly integrated into digital vector illustrations. The textured approach felt like the perfect complement to the raw, concrete surfaces that define brutalist architecture. Through this process, I was able to refine my techniques and capture the essence of these landmarks in a way that felt both authentic and creatively fulfilling.
